A Beautiful Day of Fun, Friendship, and Fellowship at Fisher House!
Once again, Mother Nature blessed us with beautiful weather, and our Fisher House guests enjoyed a wonderful day filled with great food, music, laughter, and friendship!
A special thank you to the veteran band One Night Only for providing the entertainment and to the Friends of Fisher House Illinois Board for helping provide the food and volunteers who made this special day possible.
Our longtime volunteer, Joe Byrnes, was once again behind the grill, continuing his tradition as our official grill master!
Board member Danielle Krull and her daughter Kennedy were busy serving delicious food alongside fellow veteran and board member Michael Thompson.
It's days like these that remind us what Fisher House is all about—bringing people together, building friendships, and making our veterans and their families feel at home.
To everyone who volunteered, cooked, served, entertained, or simply shared a smile, THANK YOU! Your kindness and generosity helped create another memorable day for the families we are so honored to serve.
Because at Fisher House, it's more than a place to stay. It's a family.

October Is a Month for Fun, Friendship, and Supporting Our Veterans!
Friends of Fisher House Illinois Board Member Robert Stachura, along with his wonderful team of helpers, proudly represented FOFHIL at the annual Gurnee Beer Fest!
What a great opportunity to enjoy some community fun, connect with others, and spread awareness about the important mission of Fisher House and the veterans and military families we serve.
A heartfelt THANK YOU to Robert and everyone who volunteered their time to represent our organization. Your dedication helps keep our mission in the hearts and minds of our community.
Great events, great people, and a great cause—now that's something worth celebrating!

Oktoberfest Fun at Lovell Fisher House!
The Oktoberfest celebrations continued at Lovell Fisher House, bringing together friends, supporters, veterans, and families for a wonderful day of fellowship and fun!
The festivities began with tours of the Fisher House, giving guests an opportunity to see firsthand the welcoming “home away from home” that provides comfort and support to military and veteran families during medical treatment.
We were especially delighted to welcome Veteran Virginia Gibbs and Executive Director Shaunese, who joined us for a tour of Lovell Fisher House. It was a wonderful opportunity to share the important mission of Fisher House and the difference it makes in the lives of our veterans and their loved ones.
After the tours, everyone headed over to Veterans Golf for delicious food, laughter, and a little Oktoberfest fun!
Events like these are a wonderful reminder that Fisher House is about more than providing a place to stay. It's about building friendships, creating memories, and bringing our military and veteran community together.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make this celebration so special! Your continued support helps us provide comfort, care, and a welcoming home for the families of those who have served
our country.
